Registration on Tabx

Registration is free for Tabx. To register, browse to https://tabx.online/register/ and fill out the form with your Company details.

Free License

The free license allows you to evaluate Tabx. The limits on the free License are as follows:

  • 2 Projects
  • Maximum 200 Variables per Project
  • Maximum 1000 Respondents (rows) per Project
  • 1 user (The administration User)

All other features are unrestricted, meaning you can Import CSV / SPSS survey data, view those survey results and create reports from the exportable charts and tables. If at a future point you decide to upgrade your license (to add some Client Users or to lift the Project/Variable/Respondent limits) you can do this through the automated payments system within Tabx.

Registration Form

The registration form requires a number of fields to create a license account on tabx Online. Some details can be edited later, but it is important to understand their function before you register:

  • Email Address – This is the email address used to log into the administration area for your Tabx license. This email address can only be changed by request, and not through your administration area. It is recommended that a company registers with a unique and specific email such as “tabx@yourcompany.com“. A user is created upon registration and is referred to as the License Adminstration User, whose login detail are this email address and the password you provide (see below). This email address must be valid – an email is sent to verify the email address. Without clicking the link in this email, the license and account will not activate. Please add “noreply@tabx.online” to your email provider’s white list.
  • Password – This is the password to the License Adminstration User. It is only by entering the License Adminstration User email address and this password that a company can access their license administration area. This password can be changed in the administration area at a later date.
  • Company Address Details – These are the details that will be used for any communication including invoices for the created Tabx license. These details can be changed after registration in the license administration area.
  • Terms and Conditions – Any registration must adhere to the Terms and Conditions before using or accessing any part of the Tabx service.
  • Captcha – Complete the Captcha to ensure the form submits successfully.

When the registration form is submitted, each input box will either glow green (the entered information is valid) or red (the entered information is incorrect). If any text box glows red, it is usually because not enough characters have been entered into that text box, or the entered information isn’t valid.

Account Activation

The created Tabx license will not be activated until the link contained within the verification email is clicked. Once clicked and verified, the License Adminstration User with the email address and password entered at the point of registration can now log in and start using tabx!


Logging in to Tabx

To log in to Tabx Online, browse to https://tabx.online/use/login/. Enter the username and password that your License Adminstration User has set up for you. If you are the License Adminstration User, enter the email and password used to register the Tabx license.

Forgotten usernames / passwords

If you are not the License Adminstration User, please contact your license administrator to request a username / password reset. If you are the License Adminstration User, and you have forgotten your password, please contact Tabx to regain account access.

Purchasing or Upgrading a Tabx License

Once a Tabx free license has been registered and verified via email, or your paid license has expired (yearly), a paid license can be purchased from within the administration area:

  • Log in to Tabx by browsing to https://www.tabx.online/use/login/ using the License Administration User details.
  • Browse to the  Account page using the navigation at the top of the window.
  • Browse to the  Account Tab.
  • Underneath the heading  License Information, click the button labelled  Purchase License
  • On the  Purchase License page, select:
    • Active Users Needed – The minimum number of users is 1 (more users can be added by upgrading your license at any time). When you select an amount of users, the License Cost will update.
      • Don’t Forget – with Tabx, an Active User can be replaced or modified at any time. We understand that the average Market Research project might last up to a few years – once a project has run its course, any users assigned to a project can be re-used (their username and password overwritten for use with another client).
  • Accept the Terms and Conditions of the paid license purchase.
  • When ready, click the green “Purchase” button to pay via Stripe:
    • Your credit card details are never stored with tabx – you can choose whether or not to store your information with Stripe (this defaults to not saved). Stripe is widely used as a payment processor by the largest E-commerce stores and Systems. Having a Stripe account will also allow you to pay at these stores without entering your card details again.
    • Your actual purchase is managed and administrated by Stripe, via their secure servers. Your card details are never revealed to Tabx.
    • An invoice will be sent to the email registered to the administration user for the Tabx license (invoices can be generated at any time from your account settings)
  • Once the payment has been accepted, your Tabx paid license will be active immediately and ready for use.

Upgrade your Tabx paid License

Upgrading your Tabx paid license to add more Active Users is extremely quick and easy:

  • Log in to Tabx by browsing to https://www.tabx.online/use/login/ using the License Administration User details.
  • Browse to the  Account page using the navigation at the top of the window.
  • Browse to the  Account Tab.
  • Underneath the heading  License Information, click the button labelled  Upgrade License
    • Alternatively, click the  Purchase Additional Users button on the  Account page >  Users tab.
  • On the  Upgrade License page, select:
    1. Active Users Needed – The minimum number of users is 1 more than your current Active Users amount (more users can be added by upgrading your license at any time). When you select an amount of users, the License Cost will update. This cost is pro-rata’d to the expiry date on your current tabx license. This ensures you only pay for the amount of time an additional user can use Tabx.
      1. Don’t Forget – with Tabx, an Active User can be replaced or modified at any time. We understand that the average Market Research project might last up to a few years – once a project has run its course, any users assigned to a project can be re-used (their username and password overwritten for use with another client).
  • Accept the Terms and Conditions of the paid license purchase.
  • When ready, click the green “Purchase” button to pay via Stripe:

Viewing your Tabx License Order History

To view your license order (purchases and upgrades) history:

  1. Log in to Tabx by browsing to https://www.tabx.online/use/login/ using the License Administration User details.
  2. Browse to the  Account page using the navigation at the top of the window.
  3. Browse to the  Account Tab.
  4. Any orders that have been made for this tabx license will be displayed under the  Account Information form, on the  Order History table, ordered by the order date descending.

Exporting an Invoice (Print or PDF)

To Export an Invoice for Printing or saving as PDF:

  1. Log in to tabx by browsing to https://www.tabx.online/use/login/ using the License Administration User details.
  2. Browse to the  Account page using the navigation at the top of the window.
  3. Browse to the  Account Tab.
  4. Scroll to the  Order History table, and find the order you want to export.
  5. Click the grey  View button for that order. This will open the invoice in a new window.
  6. When viewing an invoice, the invoice can be exported as a PDF clicking the Export Invoice button at the top of the page.

Change Tabx License Details

The License Administration User can edit your company License details:

  • Log in to Tabx by browsing to https://tabx.online/use/login/ using the License Administration User details.
  • Browse to the  Account page using the navigation at the top of the window.
  • Browse to the  Account Tab.
  • Change the required fields on the   Account Information form.
  • Click the Update Account Information button. You should see a green confirmation box appear confirming the information has been saved.

Managing Users in a Tabx License

Users are flexible and configurable in Tabx, allowing you to manage your clients in a simple and efficient interface.

Assigning Active Users in Tabx

When you purchase users within a Tabx license, you will see those users added as Blank Users in your license. To assign a Blank User to a person, make an Active User:

  • Browse to the  Account page using the navigation at the top of the window.
  • Browse to the  Users Tab.
  • Locate a free Blank User.
  • Add in a NameUsername (must be a valid email address) and a Password for this user.
  • Choose whether this user should have Projects Administrator global permissions.
  • Click the  Save Users button. You should see a green confirmation box appear confirming the information has been saved.

Adding Users to Projects

By default, a user cannot see or interact with any projects such that when they log in they cannot use the Interrogate, Dashboard or Analysis tools. Access to Projects must be set by the License Administrator or a Projects Administrator with current access to that project. See Permissions below.

Removing a User

When you no longer wish to give access to a particular person to your Tabx License, you can remove that User:

  • Browse to the Account page using the navigation at the top of the window.
  • Browse to the Users Tab.
  • Locate the User you wish to remove.
  • Click and confirm the  button. You should see a green confirmation box appear confirming the information has been saved.
  • Note: This user has not been removed from your license – the Active User has been reverted to a Blank User, for you to use again at another time.
  • Note: All data for that user will be erased including Dashboards, Charts and Archived Charts.

User Permissions

Broadly speaking, a Tabx license is made up of a single License Admin, plus several User Slots than can be variously added to projects and set up with different permissions within Tabx. The different User Types are:

  • License Admin
  • Projects Admin
  • User

The different Permission types are:

  • Global Permissions – Permissions for actions taken in Tabx as a whole, outside of Projects.
  • Project Permissions – Access and Edit permissions set per project for all Project Admins and Users.

The Global Permissions are as follows:

Project Permissions are set per user, per project. This means a User can be set to “Standard + Edit” on one project, but be set to “View Only” on another, each providing access to varying tools within that project.

For example, if you are delivering only Dashboards to a client by assigning them one or more User Slots, you can limit their access to their project to just the Dashboard tool.

Note that Project Admins do not have access to every project – only License Admins do. Project Admins do however get automatic access to every project they upload.

License Admin permissions never need to be set – they automatically have access to everything within their License.
